The championship belt won by boxer Muhammad Ali in 1974 was sold at auction.
The belt was bought by Jim Irsey, owner of the National Football League (NFL) "Indianapolis Colts" club, for $6.18 million.
It should be noted that the match that took place in Africa in 1974 is considered one of the most memorable moments in boxing. At that time, Ali, who faced George Foreman to regain the heavyweight title, won the fight by knockout in the eighth round.
The boxer's other items were also sold at the auction, including the robe he wore for the "Fight of the Century" against Joe Frazier.
It should be recalled that Muhammad Ali died in 2016 at the age of 74. He is the champion of the 1960 Olympic Games, the absolute world champion in heavyweight, five-time "Boxer of the Year" and "Boxer of the Decade" titles. During his career, the American boxer had 61 fights and won 56.
