China launched a remote sensing satellite into orbit

China has successfully launched the TECIS Earth remote sensing satellite for environmental monitoring, as well as two other smaller satellites for various purposes.

This was reported by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

"On August 4, at 11:08 a.m., the Changzheng-4B launch vehicle was launched from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome. The mission was successfully completed," - the corporation's statement said.

According to CASC, this instrument is the world's first remote sensing satellite. This satellite provides both active and passive remote sensing of carbon sequestration by forests.
